Warmest Greetings and heartiest of welcomes. My Name is Arjun Agarwal, an Indian born national who has been living in South Africa for the past 20 years, despite my tenure in this beautiful country which has taught me much about democracy, equality and unity my heart and soul lie with my motherland and its values – India (Bharat). I am currently pursuing double major BCOMM in Finance and Economics at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), in addition to this I have a huge passion for Public Speaking and have maintained it as one of my key activities throughout my High School Career at Crawford College Sandton where I matriculated in 2014. I have made it my mission to be the best at what I do and thus help our ever evolving society, with perhaps humanity’s most influential tool – speech. Having received 8 years of training throughout my high school career from the most incredible mentor I could have asked for, Mrs. Marcelle Pincus, the author and editor of the world famous ‘Red and Yellow English Book’ who has an impeccable grasp of the english language and the speech which flows from it. As a result of her invaluable training and constant fine tuning of my speaking technique and structure, I believe I am now ready and equipped to take on the world as a speaker and make a true difference in people’s lives. Thus I have manifested as a young motivational and innovative speaker specializing in Youth Mobilization and Motivation.
Now that I have been speaking for a few months at various events delivering keynote speeches and when need be due to my developed skill of speaking having the ability to MC, I aspire to grow in the public speaking industry and strongly believe that the greatest reason supporting my anticipated advancement in an industry that is saturated with experienced and reputed icons is, my tender age. I bring a fresh element of originality spiced up with some inner quirkiness, life from the perspective of an aspiring young member of society. After having observed and listened to the pioneers of the industry, with this new approach I strive to exceed what is expected from me and surpass the stereotypical norms of society, to transcend to a level of appreciation where my mentors are held today.
I have learnt many valuable life lessons which have aided me in becoming the person I am and I now wish to both share these experiences and widen my scope of knowledge thus enabling me to positively influence people from all walks of life to see their lives with a renewed perspective. Growth is an aspect of life which I continuously chase for growth is the true determinant of ones success, else one may be lured into the realms of stagnation and never truly progress. After all there is a kaleidoscope of possibilities in the world, it would be an injustice to not explore them all.
Many may ask how such a young, inexperienced person, could possibly be of use in the speaking industry. The answer is fairly simple, as one of my role model’s Steve Jobs once said:
‘We are all here to make a dent in the universe, else why even be here?’
This omniscient statement empowers one and all to believe that their skills can make a difference. Through my skill of innovative motivation that is both a dent and a difference I am willing to make and work strenuously hard for.
I trust you will look forward to all that is still to come.
